Course Notes

Hi Everyone,

We have now set out most of the controls and it is shaping up to be a fantastic course, with lots of very cool control sites. Definitely some fun areas to explore! The terrain is a mixture of semi open tops and large areas of native bush.

A good number of the controls in the bush are reasonably near tracks, so there are plenty of options if you are not so confident delving deep into the forest. However, we do have a few trickier controls for the more ambitious teams :)

Afterwards we will be providing some Christmas drinks and nibbles so don't forget to bring a plate, cup and spoon.

Safety:
There is extensive trapping around Kennedys Bush Reserve (West side of Summit Road), including Kill Traps and Poison Bait Stations. Tread carefully and please do not touch, tamper or otherwise interfere with these.

Some of the tracks in the area are still closed due to rock fall danger post earthquake. These are shown as out of bounds areas on the map and have closed signs at the start of the tracks. Please make sure you obey these closures, both for your own safety and ongoing access to these areas for Rogaining.

Please be extremely careful crossing the Summit Road. It is open to traffic and can get people driving very fast along here. You must obey the NZ road rules at all times and not run along the road. If you need to follow along beside the road, please stay well off the seal in the grassy verge.

If you have a cell phone and have any problems please give us a call on 0221599826

See you soon!
